Sisterhood of Temple Israel Center/Women's League for Conservative Judaism
The role of the women of our congregation has been to inspire and help in all endeavors: to achieve a way of life, following the teachings of Judaism.
From a small nucleus of 24 to more than 200, the goals have been the same, to “further religious interests in all ramifications” . Recently, our goals have evolved to strengthen the bonds of unity among women, to understand an perpetuate Conservative/Masorti Judaism in the home, synagogue, and community.
Our Programs and Projects include:
-Synagogue Activities
-Community Awareness
-Education
-Social Activities
-Fund Raising
No one person can do all of this alone. As a community of women, we provide each other with the inspiration to dedicate ourselves to the ideals of Mathilde Schechter who founded the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism in 1918. Her goal “…to serve the cause of Judaism by strengthening the bonds of unity among Jewish women…” is our goal today. Please join us in fulfilling this goal. We are constantly reaching out to include more women. A one - year complimentary membership in Sisterhood is extended to every woman becoming a new Temple member. |
