OVERVIEW

The role of women in our congregation has been to inspire a way of life, following the teachings of Judaism. From a small nucleus of 24 to more than 200 women, our goal is to further religious interests in all endeavors.

No one person can do all of this alone. As a community of women, we provide each other with the inspiration to dedicate ourselves to the ideals of Mathilde Schechter, who founded the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism in 1918. Her goal “…to serve the cause of Judaism by strengthening the bonds of unity among Jewish women…" is our goal today. Please join us in fulfilling this goal.

Tradition has taught us the value of giving to our community and Sisterhood strives to continue to find and participate in meaningful projects. We contribute funds to the synagogue to purchase items not included in the regular operating budget. We provide candlesticks to all b’nai mitzvah and continue to raise funds to supply meals to the Temple’s bereaved families through our Elu D’Varim project.

We are constantly reaching out to include more women. A one-year complimentary membership in Sisterhood is extended to every woman becoming a new T.I.C. member.

We are affiliated with the
Women's League for Conservative Judaism.
