Dear TIC Parents of 5th-12th Graders,
Basketball is a great way for Jewish youth to come together as a community. Over ninety Temple Israel Center girls and boys play in the Westchester Jewish Basketball League. This league schedules practices and games that do not conflict with the players’ Jewish education or holidays.
The time commitment is approximately one weeknight practice and one game per week on a weeknight or Sunday afternoon. There may be some occasions when two games are scheduled in one week. Games begin in mid-November and playoffs begin in March. The coaches and the League Commissioner try to arrange game and practice times that do not conflict with the players’ schedules. Parents are needed as coaches for our teams. The coaches set up the practice schedules for their teams.
If your child is interested in playing basketball for a Temple Israel Center team, please complete the 1) 2017-2018 Youth Basketball Registration Form and 2) WJBL Permission/Release Form along with 3) the Youth Programming Registration Form (if you have not already filled it out). Return them with a check for youth dues and the basketball fee to my attention. Players are not allowed to participate in the first game until the basketball and youth dues fees have been paid and registration and release forms have been signed.
I am looking forward to a great season!
Kelly Kressler, Director of Membership Engagement & Events
