Supports youth and teen initiatives for the whole community

Sisterhood Torah Fund
Funds are contributed to the Jewish Theological Seminary

The Rabbi Gordon Tucker Fund for Jewish Learning, Thought and Culture

Contributions are dedicated to bringing innovative programming to Temple Israel Center and for the creation of a physical space to house the beit midrash learning lab. This fund was established to honor Rabbi Emeritus Gordon Tucker.

Hesed

Hesed Circle Fund
Supports Temple Israel Center members during times of illness or special circumstances and helps fund general hesed activities for the congregation

Sisterhood Elu D’Varim Fund
Provides a Shabbat meal for a bereaved member and immediate family

Social Action

Hungry & Homeless Fund
Contributions are distributed twice a year to local Westchester area organizations helping to prevent and alleviate homelessness and hunger

ICNAW—Interfaith Council for New Americans Westchester
Supports HIAS’s Westchester Refugee Resettlement Project by sponsoring and supporting specific families as they resettle in our community

Greening Fund
Supports new and ongoing greening initiatives that make a difference for our community and for our planet

Racial Justice
Contributions go towards the Racial Justice Committee to help develop opportunities to learn about and take action to dismantle racism

Inclusion

Inclusion Fund
Supports education, training, and special programming to continue Temple Israel Center’s efforts to be a welcoming and accessible place for all

Music

Shir Hadash Music Fund
Supports innovative musical experiences throughout the year for all ages, including concerts, the Temple Israel Center Youth Choir, and special programming

Evelyn & Monte Daniels Memorial Library

Evelyn & Monte Daniels Memorial Library Fund
Gives ongoing support to the Evelyn & Monte Daniels Memorial Library. Dedicated bookplates can be purchased and placed in the books through this fund

General

Beautification Fund
Donations are used for special projects enhancing the beauty of the synagogue grounds and landscaping as well as improvements to the interior of the building

General Program Fund
Contributions toward the General Fund support Temple Israel Center’s annual operating budget, allowing us to provide religious services, educational programming, and special events throughout the year

Kiddush Fund
Subsidizes Kiddush on Shabbat and holidays

Memorial

Yahrzeit Memorial Fund
Commemorates a yahrzeit

Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques
Honor the memory of a loved one with a yahrzeit memorial plaque in the Milstein Sanctuary. These bronze plaques are arranged according to the Hebrew calendar. There is a light next to each Hebrew month, which is illuminated at the proper time during the year. The oldest of the plaques dates from 1883, and we continue the practice of making them available for families who would like to memorialize their loved ones.
